Ready for upcoming (HIT) Hong Sisters OTP?

Hell yeahhhhhhhh!

We’re talking about CHA SEUNG WON the Sexy and GONG HYO JIN the Charismatic. Can anything (possibly) go wrong with this couple? Just seeing them laugh so comfortably together during the script rehearsal of upcoming Hong Sisters’ drama The Greatest Love already gave me stomach butterflies and flutters ❤ <3.  If the script manages to strike gold, I will forever pay respect to the drama gods. And I will probably die of gratitude.

The Hong Sisters have always been favs of mine, regardless of their lack of originality. They’re not great scriptwriters or anything. Their patterns range from “Cliche. Typical. Redundant. OTT.” to “Cliche. Typical. Redundant. OTT.” Same.  You name it, they have it. And they probably tick off a lot of serious drama watchers who want quality writing.

But I’m weird when it comes to my dramas. If a drama can make me laugh hysterically along with the stupid cranky jokes. And at the same time, make me cry like a baby over the tug of heartstrings and angst-y interactions. I AM ALL for this drama. If a drama can combine fun, zany and crazy and still maintain a certain level of approachability to the audience, what’s not to like? “Cliche. Typical. Redundant. OTT.” What? I’m willing to throw all of that in the can. The Hong Sisters just have the magic to do that right for me.

The Greatest Love (or formerly known as The Discovery of Love/ Discovery of Affection – uhh.. which are all MEHHHH titles to me) is inspired from the concept of hit reality show “We Got Married”  and revolves around Cha and Gong’s characters  who are at odds against each other but slowly fall for each other thru the fake-make-believe show. Cha plays celebrity top star whilst Gong plays almost-forgotten idol star. They bicker they fight and ta-da, they fall in love. Like we know nothing about the Hong Sisters’ patterns huh? Yeah right.

So like all Hong Sisters dramas, we need 2 love rivals to complete the equation. I have watched enuff to know the obvious – their male leads are usually pine-ers for their exes and their female leads  subject of affection of another equally good looking (or maybe even better) man (eg. Chun Hyang, My Girl, Gumiho?) No different here. Yoo In Na plays the ex and Yoon Kye Sang the competitor for Gong’s affection.

Yoo In Na is one damn lucky actress. Having after worked with Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won in Secret Garden, now she’s got Cha Seung Won and Gong Hyo Jin to learn from! Okay, and there’s Yoon Kye Sang too (whom I think can be a hit or miss depending on the material given to him). I’m excited to see if she’ll be able to hold her own against the “veterans”. What with her newcomer status?  If she doesn’t learn something from them, she’s gonna miss the boat forever. Lucks girl.

Some piccies from the rehearsal session they had a few days ago:-

Gong Hyo Jin and Cha Seung Won looked kind of misty eyed in the pics? Sad scene in the first ep already? haha.. I’m babbling.

SO EXCITED.

The Greatest Love is set to premier early May this year, replacing Royal Family (which is my current fav on-going drama). Bring the WGM fever on man!!!
