Yes yes yes!
Surprised why I’m so excited about a war movie?
The young up and coming director who helmed the renowned hits Rough Cut (2008) and Secret Reunion (2010) is coming back with Front Line, a war movie depicting the clashes and tension between North Korea and South Korea (aahh, Comrades much? *weeps*) this July 2011.
I loved loved both Rough Cut and Secret Reunion. Of course, the cast and performances of the actors had a lot to do with it (Kang Ji Hwan and So Ji Sub won Best New Actor for Rough Cut; Song Kang Ho and Kang Dong Won were superb in Secret Reunion), but I think Jang Hoon was the bigger reason why I got a whole lot of kick-ass fun and thrill from watching both films. The way Jang depicted to us friendship, brotherhood and rivalry in both films – plain awesomesauce. Every single moment mattered. And every single moment tugged heartstrings. And it doesn’t help when you have an emotional freak like myself. I just get all teary like at the slightest touching moment?T_T
So here goes:
Boy, wasn’t that a thrilling moving trailer?
Front Line is penned by famous script-writer Park Sang Yeon (JSA, Queen Seon Deok) and stars the charismatic Shin Ha Kyun, Kim Ok Bin (wow, finally, girl where have you been?) and Go Soo (HOT!).
Okay, given a cast like that, coupled with Jang Hoon and Park Sang Yeon, I can’t imagine this film failing. At all.
I’m all for this to blow the box office.
