T-ara’s “Cry Cry” MV – featuring Cha Seung Won

We all know Cha Seung Won kicks ass. And we love it even more that he doesn’t need to try. He just has this natural rough-edged charm and magical charisma capable of making us fall hard for him. Doesn’t matter that he’s already 40, is a married man, and has 2 full grown kids, all we know, he kills whenever he’s on screen. And we don’t mind bleeding a puddle of blood just to see him work his magic. ❤

He recently lent a HUGE helping hand in T-ara‘s Cry Cry MV, once again showing lots of charisma and coolness,  showing us how much he’s got left after Athena. I’m not so much of a K-pop fan or lover, but I do have an odd and inexplicable fondness for the MVs they make out of their songs. They’re mostly overly dramatic and overwrought with histrionics, but I think it’s the actual effort put into the MVs which amazes me. The extra length and mile they’d go just to make their MVs appeal to the masses. o_0

Lee Seung Gi vs. Dokko Jin in Samsung Zipel CF

This is just a teaser of what’s to come.

Nation’s darling Lee Seung Gi against our beloved Dokko Jin…ermm.. Cha Seung Won I meant, in Samsung’s upcoming Zipel Fridge CF.

Seung Gi works off the cute and lovable really well, but not really digging Cha Seung Won’s OTT Dokko Jin-ness in the CF?

Perhaps a Gu Ae Jung/ Gong Hyo Jin pair-up would be better. And Seung Gi can come to Noona!~~ 😛

Cha Seung Won and Gong Hyo Jin in BAZAAR Aug 2011

Dokko Jin and Gu Ae Jung gracing the covers of BAZAAR? So right you are.

After the much raved after sensation that was of Best Love, Cha Seung Won instantly and immediately became the most sought after MAN, doing CFs after CFs, photoshoots after photoshoots, taking over Hyun Bin’s spot after he’d entered MS. And Gong Hyo Jin? She continues to be awesome, by going straight into filming of her new film Love Fiction with HA!JUNG!WOO!.

Both have been extremely busy after Best Love ended, but you know Dokko Jin and Gu Ae Jung cannot resist not being with each other for too long no? He needs to hold her tight in his arms to recharge LOL

Welcome to my heart, Dokko Jin~

Sorry Kang-ah (49 Days). You’re awesome. And I still love you. But please let me catch a breathe for a while, my heart’s been struck hard by cupid’s arrow. I cannot hold it in anymore.

Hong Sisters, I bow before you. I bow before you. I bow before you!!!

How can you always ALWAYS manage to create characters that are so adorable? How can you always make them so damn memorable and lovable ? How can you always make me fall so hard? From Mong Ryong (Delightful Girl Chun Hyang), Yoo Rin (My Girl), Anna (Fantasy Couple), Hong Gil Dong (HGD), Hwang Tae Kyung (You’re Beautiful) to Gu Miho (My GF is a Gumiho). You ladies rawk. You ladies RAWK SO HARD!

More on the fab fab Dokko Jin

Ready for upcoming (HIT) Hong Sisters OTP?

Hell yeahhhhhhhh!

We’re talking about CHA SEUNG WON the Sexy and GONG HYO JIN the Charismatic. Can anything (possibly) go wrong with this couple? Just seeing them laugh so comfortably together during the script rehearsal of upcoming Hong Sisters’ drama The Greatest Love already gave me stomach butterflies and flutters ❤ <3.  If the script manages to strike gold, I will forever pay respect to the drama gods. And I will probably die of gratitude.

The Hong Sisters have always been favs of mine, regardless of their lack of originality. They’re not great scriptwriters or anything. Their patterns range from “Cliche. Typical. Redundant. OTT.” to “Cliche. Typical. Redundant. OTT.” Same.  You name it, they have it. And they probably tick off a lot of serious drama watchers who want quality writing.

But I’m weird when it comes to my dramas. If a drama can make me laugh hysterically along with the stupid cranky jokes. And at the same time, make me cry like a baby over the tug of heartstrings and angst-y interactions. I AM ALL for this drama. If a drama can combine fun, zany and crazy and still maintain a certain level of approachability to the audience, what’s not to like? “Cliche. Typical. Redundant. OTT.” What? I’m willing to throw all of that in the can. The Hong Sisters just have the magic to do that right for me.

The Greatest Love (or formerly known as The Discovery of Love/ Discovery of Affection – uhh.. which are all MEHHHH titles to me) is inspired from the concept of hit reality show “We Got Married”  and revolves around Cha and Gong’s characters  who are at odds against each other but slowly fall for each other thru the fake-make-believe show. Cha plays celebrity top star whilst Gong plays almost-forgotten idol star. They bicker they fight and ta-da, they fall in love. Like we know nothing about the Hong Sisters’ patterns huh? Yeah right.

So like all Hong Sisters dramas, we need 2 love rivals to complete the equation. I have watched enuff to know the obvious – their male leads are usually pine-ers for their exes and their female leads  subject of affection of another equally good looking (or maybe even better) man (eg. Chun Hyang, My Girl, Gumiho?) No different here. Yoo In Na plays the ex and Yoon Kye Sang the competitor for Gong’s affection.

Yoo In Na is one damn lucky actress. Having after worked with Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won in Secret Garden, now she’s got Cha Seung Won and Gong Hyo Jin to learn from! Okay, and there’s Yoon Kye Sang too (whom I think can be a hit or miss depending on the material given to him). I’m excited to see if she’ll be able to hold her own against the “veterans”. What with her newcomer status?  If she doesn’t learn something from them, she’s gonna miss the boat forever. Lucks girl.

Some piccies from the rehearsal session they had a few days ago:-

Gong Hyo Jin and Cha Seung Won looked kind of misty eyed in the pics? Sad scene in the first ep already? haha.. I’m babbling.

The Greatest Love is set to premier early May this year, replacing Royal Family (which is my current fav on-going drama). Bring the WGM fever on man!!!

Thank you Drama Gods!

for giving me this news!

Lee Da Hae and Micky Yoo Chun have been confirmed as the leads for MBC’s upcoming drama titled Goodbye Miss Ripley. F-I-N-A-L-L-Y!!! After weeks of speculations and here-and-there rumors (especially those surrounding Micky), we finally have a full get-go cast!

Thank you sooooo much drama gods! My earlier post worked! YAY!

This isn’t confirmed yet (?)  but news has it that the drama shall revolve around a girl who had to endure separation with her family at a tender age and who went on to suffer even more worse fate in her adopted family? Da Hae will play the titular female lead Miss Ripley.

I’m not dissing but doesn’t that spell CLICHE?? And MELODRAMATIC??

BUT wadaheck, I don’t care. And I really shouldn’t. Cos: No.1 – Da Hae’s coming back to drama. No. 2 – she’s being paired up with someone young and HOT (oh, and also REALLY popular for once). No. 3 – she’s obviously better when doing melo or angsty anyway.

Kim Seung Woo (IRIS, Hotelier) and Kang Hye Jung (Old Boy, Flowers For My Life) round out the remaining cast for the drama. Oopss, I didn’t mean to ignore them. I just get carried away when it comes to My Girl! I think they’re  solid actors to begin with, and maybe even better than Da Hae and obviously so compared to Micky. It’s definitely a good opportunity for the young ones to learn from these veterans (well maybe Kang Hye Jung‘s not so old hehehe..). To be really honest tho, my mind still doesn’t click or compute when I imagine all of them together in a scene. It’s all so weird. But hey, surprise me!

So far no confirmation of the writer or the PD yet. I truly deeply sincerely earnestly hope they get a good one on board. These 4 actors getting together in a drama is already odd (super odd in fact) to begin with. The last thing we need is a crappy writer or a incompetent PD to make things worst. *Drama gods, please grant me this one last wish. PLEASE!!!!*

The production company Curtain Call has announced that they will reveal more information about the drama in the near future and filming is scheduled to commence end of this March. Da Hae has also tweeted photos of her going thru the script a while ago. Drama should be a GO this time.

Goodbye Miss Ripley is scheduled to air this May, taking over The Duo when it ends.

And oh, today is definitely a good day. No doubt. The heavens gave me Cha Seung Won and Gong Hyo Jin! For Discovery of Love. I nearly couldn’t breathe. I nearly died. I could totally forgive the Hong Sisters for letting Seung Gi go, or perhaps the other way, totally thank Seung Gi for his letting go of the role which was allegedly written to fit him earlier on. All that paved way to the birth of what could be an ELECTRIFYING COUPLE (if their chemistry flies). I could not care less about what the story might be now that the characters/story have been re-written or whether it’s really been plagiarized or what not, the OTP already made my day. And if the story sux, the acting will make up for that. Guaranteed.

Thank you drama gods, once again!
