Revisit stress free heaven

My brain is severely fried from all the work related stress. Have never been this productive, and yet have never felt this dejected and thwarted.  I may have had it too easy in my early years of working life, I’ve never felt like this before – brain-fried and soul-sucked. I’ve been faced with continuous and non-stop problems at work the past 2 weeks, they’d been gushing in like the coming flow of the sea, they retired like the ebb but came gushing back in no time. It’s been a never-ending cycle, it’s making me crazy.

Then I realise I’m not the only one, 101% of the world out there are as balked and disheartened as myself. Fretting about the never-ending work load, the piling frustration of unresolved and unsolvable problems. Why am I complaining when I still get to go home at 7.30pm? What’s with me still getting an hour of drama when others are working their arses off to impress the next day? Such a whiner I am :/

You must think I’m overreacting, yea maybe I am. But the only thing that keeps me sanity hanging by the thread, ILICDD ILICDD ILICDD.

And occasionally when even ILICDD doesn’t work, I turn to this.

Oh how I miss you show. And Lee Min Ki.

Chilling Romance (2011) Review

You know, I always wonder. How does Lee Min Ki do it? How does he manage to click with every single co-star he acts with? Young, old, noonas or whatnot, how does he make it work?!? Is he some divine creature from MARS or something? In that he’s just able to CLICK with literally everything and anything through virtual telepathic powers or some invisible signal? I mean, even life-less objects (point in case, a guitar in SUFBB) and the intangible/untouchable are not spared. He’s weird, but I love him.

And Son Ye Jin, it’s a known that she’s a gorgeous creature. Always so goddess-like and ethereal-divine looking that no guy can’t possibly not fall for her. Emanating an angelic naivete that no sane person can possibly find annoying. That even I myself, a girl, love her immensely.

So when these 2 come together, IMAGINE the bulkload of prettiness. And the potential for electrifying chemistry.

And you bet, I wasn’t disappointed.

Shut Up Flower Boy Band: First Impressions

Darn Lee Min Ki, why just a friggin CAMEO??!!!!!

I suppose everyone who has seen the first 2 eps of Shut Up: Flower Boy Band would have reacted the same way as I did. Who would have thought a cameo character would be able to garner so much love and attention in just 2 episodes?! It’s so UNFAIR it’s killing me! And it makes me wanna cry T_T because not only have I been missing this guy on my TV for ages, he has to come back in a cameo role, make me fall head over heels for his character Byung Hee, and leave in a zippy (cos he’s a cameo DUH). He just has to do that to us fans huh?!

WAEEEEEE?!?!?!?!

Lee Min Ki HOTNESS in Quick + cine21 Photospread [UPDATED]

Lee Min Ki needs to come back to my screen soon. IMMEDIATELY! PRONTO!

Have you guys seen this official 2-min trailer of his upcoming film “Quick“? (DB posted a short teaser in her blog earlier [Teaser].)

===

It’s all flashy over the top action. And VERY exaggerated IMO. But what the heck? Did you see the overwhelming Lee Min Ki hotness in it?

Was it worth A Million $?

With such a striking cast comprising Lee Min Ki, Park Hae Il, Lee Cheon Hee, Shin Min Ah, Jung Yoo Mi, Park Hee Seon…etc (all major and A/B-list stars!), surely this cannot be disappointing right? Altho I know very well that hype and  big names cannot guarantee and sustain the quality of a show, but just LOOK at the list of actors involved, and you and I know very well that we’re in for some good stuff. If not the story, the acting surely MUST BE ABLE to speak for itself, no?

Okay, I’m sure some of you would have known, or would have guessed from the poster above, that this movie is something like Survivor – which portrays contestants battling each other out to get the prized money of 1 Million $ (US). The concept is well known, but never before shown on Korean cinema.  That’s why I was looking forward to watching this movie in the first place. Apart from my crush on the guys (goodness, they cannot get any any more attractive in here! Lee Cheon Hee should be up there in the poster too!), I was really interested in seeing Korean cinema tackle such a fresh/more reality-show-type concept.

So… by not spoiling the movie for you all, I’d say this movie was pretty decent, bordering between average and good. The concept is no doubt a regurgitation of Survivor (a given actually), but incorporated with more elements of surprises and twists. Watching it reminded me of Battle Royale (the famous Japanese kill-or-die for the $ show), albeit the Korean version entrenched with deeper insights into the mental and thinking of the contestants.

I liked how the movie probed into the competitiveness and rivalry between the contestants (tho a bit predictable, obviously due to having seen too much of reality tv shows hehe…), and how it showed that greed and desperation to survive can just be a fine line apart.   The direction was pretty on spot – and the acting fairly engaging and good thru out.

But that isn’t to say that the movie was truly realistic at all means.  In spite of the good points, I still felt that something was missing. Whilst I appreciated how the director tried to highlight the different kinds of emotions going thru each contestants when faced with different situations, I failed to feel the impact and punch I had expected the competition to bring about.

Yes, the thrill and excitement was there, but there’s that “X” factor missing which actually made it a lot less than what I would call a quality movie.

But if you want a movie capable of whetting your curiosity… and a movie with hot and sizzling men, this is IT!

Last but not least, if I were to rate this movie out of a 10 point system, I’d probably give it a 7. 🙂

And maybe another 0.5 for the guys in there! haha~~

So before I leave, here you go… your 1 Million ride!
